I don't really think it's a great album, though it is certainly underrated. Too much of it sounds like Great Southern. I think "Pegasus." "Sail Away" "Just Ain't Easy" are the only songs that can stand up tall in the catalogue and they should have put them back in rotation in the 90s. Others have their moments for sure and it is incredible compared to the next two. And those three are truly great songs.
Leroy would have been incredible. Was that ever a real possibility? Not that I've heard. Chuck would have been great. There were lawsuits and bitter feelings still ongoing. If he had come along, then Lamar would have as well, and the band would have been better without a doubt.
Dickey didn't like playing the slide guitar on that one? Didn't show. Crazy Love is not one of my favorites, but his slide there was still phenomenal I thought.
It is amazing when lives collide as your and your neighbor's, this artist's daughter, did and you both are such a part of the history of the Allman Brothers Band and their legacy. Just think, if the ABB was not having musician "shake ups", the logo may never have been designed and... the rest is history... Thanks, Alan for everything you do as a part of keeping the road going on forever!
Enlightened Rogues is a great album. I wish the band had selected Lee Roy Parnell to play slide and that’s no knock on Dan Toler.
It would have been nice if Chuck Leavell had joined as well.

I just remember Lee Roy sitting in with the Brothers in NYC on Southbound. The ABB seemed to get guests to play Southbound with them.

He didn’t like playing it live. I believe he just accepted it as something he had to do. Until he started playing w Warren.
What a great story about the logo!
Thanks Beth. Crazy
