Alan,

Thanks for sharing this on a momentous anniversary. I thoroughly enjoy all of your writings, but the Allmans are a subject I have the most appreciation for. Have you ever written an article about the history of the many talented guitarists that participated in the brotherhood? I have read both of your books but I guess my question comes from my curiosity regarding how one band could achieve continued success with so many varied and talented artists. What was the draw for these individuals to join and spitritually connect to the vision of the ABB?

I’ve written about all of them but not exactly like that. Dickey and Duane set a template that inspired so many and they all leapt at the chance to be part of the legacy.

Alan, as usual, your words capture the absolute magic of it all. I can just feel the ebb and flow, the buildup, the crescendo. Nice piece of new journalism!

Alan, always wished I could have been there, but your words somewhat lessen my pain. I was fortunate enough to see the first three versions of the band. Was surprised I could recover from the loss of Duane.
