Reflecting on decades of friendship with some Louisiana zydeco aces. Terrance Simien and his original Mallet Playboys were great buddies. So good to be back in touch.
so much fun! I lived down in Cajun land late 70's to early 80's and got to see so many great bands in a lot of small clubs and dance halls. Clifton Chenier and Rockin' Dopsie and many more. Good times! Friends I made there are still great friends today.
Yeah I went to UM. Rick’s was across the street from my dorm unbelievably enough. I spent a LOT of time there first two years. Sort of felt I was wasting time and having fun but it ended up setting up my career. Crazy.

Would have loved to have seen Clifton. It’s great, great music.
We recently danced and had a big time with Zydeco Experience at the Bayou Bon Vivant Cajun Festival in Norfolk Virginia. Super fun.
Yes. Terrance has been spreading joy for 40 years!
Man,you've met some Blues players I've admired for quite awhile.
I love some infectious Zydeco. Having lived in Biloxi Ms the past 40 yrs. I attended all 7 days of jazz fest for years.
As always,enjoy your work.
Did you go to school in Ann Arbor? My folks are about 4 hours away; I've been known to visit dispensaries in that neck of the woods
