It's got to be a drag to be interviewed by someone who really doesn't know anything about the subject matter. "Who's better Dickey Betts or Warren Haynes?" Really? Who asks a question like that. You answered it very well, by the way!
Alan, interesting to see you & see IMUS again. Nice segment but was it speeded up or was that actually the accurate speed. BTW, did you realize you were surrounded by the future stars of Fox News, Bernie, Dagen & Sid?
Thanks. No, I don't watch Fox and didn't interact with any of them that day, except Dagen, who was very nice and I have had some communication with. I chatted with her while I was waiting to go on and she was knowledgable about the ABB and a fan, I had a bit of a sense that she may have been behind me being on the show, actually.
That was a fun blast from the past . I loved Imus and he didn’t pretend to know much about the ABB. And you… 8th grader writing about Duane for Social Studies assignment - how great is that ! Sorry to have missed you at The Brothers pre-party. I own your books, thank you, and happy w the Kirk West photography purchased ! Still reeling from two great nights .
I enjoyed the interview. Don was a bit in the dark regarding the ABB. Yeah, the question "who was a better guitarist, Dickey or Warren?" huh? You did great Alan.
Btw, I'm sure this has been discussed before...but..I heard "Ramblin Man" the other night. I will never tire of this song. There is the "ghostly riff" (someone said that once and it is a great description) at the 4:24 mark or close, at the end. This is just absolute genius on Dickey's part. It's almost a salute to Duane and the band for what it was before Duane went down and at the same time a statement, we are going to go on. If you want to hear the "tone" and unique sound that made the ABB so wonderful and Dickey's contribution so key, it is right there. Have a good weekend Brothers and Sisters. KB
That was great, and contrary to what you stated in your email, I don't think you were low-key or blase...you came across as an expert on the band, and rightly so!

Thank you. I've done interviews with much more ill informed people with much smaller audiences. :)

Right on. Isn’t that crazy about 8th grade? Wish I had that paper.
