Great interview. BTW - do you think Duane and the ABB were inspired to play "You Don't Love Me" after hearing it on Mayalls 1967 album, "Hard Road" with Peter Green? -JD

JD< Yes, I do think that, though it's strictly a hunch. No one has ever told me that. I will ask Jaimoe what he recalls tonight, but his usual answer is "shit. gregg/duane/dickey brought in a song and we played it. I don't know where they heard it."

Great interview. Mayall was a lot of acts in one. Perhaps someone like him was Long John Baldry. Played at Fairleigh Dickinson in the 70's. The power went out and he stayed there. In the midst of this he took a newspaper - looked at it- and said- Reading tomorrows headline- Nixon Impeached- waking up a quiet crowd to a cheer. Add to Mayall besides his great music a great sense of humor.

I admit knowing little to nothing about the Bluesbreakers, but reading your interview with the late John Mayall, I tip my cap to them. Clapton and Green in succession? That's quite an alumni list. Thanks, Alan, for the enlightening interview about Mayall's impact on the blues.
