This is a wonderful profile of an amazing musician. I’ve no idea why or where the idea came from, but an essay about Ringo’s appearance in the 1981 cult classic ‘Caveman’ started falling out of me when I sat down to write this morning. Maybe, when the Muses think something needs to be written about, they just scream at the top of their lungs, and if you're paying attention, you can’t miss it.

Great Article Alan! Thank you. Happy Birthday Ringo and many more. "Peace and Love," What a great message.

I think it was Stevie Van Zant that described the Beatles as a "Four Headed Monster" Right on. All four were critical, individually and collectively.

Four lads from Liverpool who changed the world.

Cosmic stuff. KB

Cynics refer to Ringo Starr as the luckiest man ever born. Is it luck to be the best drummer hangin' 'round Liverpool when the Beatles came knocking? Yes, but he could have choked under a situation that must have been pressure-packed: record, promote, tour, repeat. And 13 albums in 7 years? Brother, that's a load. When did they ever go home? A great life for a guy whose early-life health problems nearly killed him. Happy 85th B-day, Ringo! Cheers
