Another great read, Alan! I would love to have been in your shoes. Buddy Guy sealed the deal on Blues for me. I'm curious if Buddy has ever played with one of the most underrated Chicago blues men, Luther Allison or if you've ever interviewed him?

I definitely did interview Luther, and I wrote the liner notes for his Alligator album Live in Chicago, as well as the program notes for his induction into the Blues Hall of Fame. Luther and Buddy were both West Side guitarists with similar approaches. They definitely played together.

Great read! I would of been shaking in my boots to interview Mr Guy when I was in college. He can be a little prickly sometimes.

It was on the phone. I never got nervous much, which is one reason I've been pretty good at this.
