Thank you for posting this, Alan. I had no idea this happened. That video is heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. His last show here in Houston on the "Farewell" tour was so moving. I don't know how he's going to do this new tour. But of ALL the rockers I've interviewed over the year, Peter Frampton was among if not THE nicest of the three times we chatted on the phone. And he was just as generous in person - even laughing when I produced one of my Sgt. Pepper's bubblegum cards. And you're absolutely right: we have to appreciate the "lifers" of performers, while we can.

Wow!

This article brought me back to when the album came out…

I discovered Peter Frampton before then in Frampton’s Camel, he opened for Foghat in my hometown, Charleston, South Carolina…

I was blown away by every note, sound I heard them play, especially his guitar…

I mean, DANG…

After that night I told everyone I saw or met what a great show they put on…

Yeah, yeah…

No one seemed to listen…

Then Frampton Comes Alive erupted…

Everyone knew his name…

I just sighed as they would go on then say, “remember I tried to tell you about him…”

There was one particular party about forty people squeezed into a minuscule 200 sq ft apartment…

Southern Comfort was the drink of the night…

That album played on repeat the entire evening…

Still brings me back to a special place…

He made sounds I’d never heard before and I loved music…

The first licks Mr. Frampton blazed through in the video you shared seared through me like I’ve never heard a guitar, Warren Haynes always seals the deal…

What a treasure…

Music will always be my first love…

My momma made sure of that…

Thanks for bringing so many wonderful articles to us…

You have truly lived the life…

I’ll be seeing your show sometime this summer…

Saw Peter in 2019 in Syracuse and was absolutely blown away. His voice and playing were incredible. Been a fan since the 70's but it was the first time I saw him and I'm so happy I did!

I loved watching the video. That was so special- thanks for sharing it. I loved Frampton Comes Alive but never knew he and Bowie were mates.

My preorder for Brothers and Sisters is in for the hardcover and I cannot wait to read it. Thanks for all you do Alan!
