I have a hard time picking my favorite blues records

I have a favorite blues song that I listen to a lot

Hourglass - BB King blues medley

Duane and Gregg are at their best

Duane’s guitar and Gregg’s vocals are amazing

Nothing better

Your list hit all great blues and was educated by your list of some that I didn't know, thanks

Hey Alan,

Love your stories especially One Way Out. I DJ a blues show here in Louisville. Blues Highway airs from WXOX FM and at ARTxFM.com on Sundays, 9:00-11:00 AM EDT.

Love the Essential Albums Picked By Essential Blues Artists And Me.

I’m thinking this Sunday’s show will feature the songs and albums featured in the article. Obviously with an ok from you.

How about it?

Mike

I grew up with Johnny Winter he was the guy who introduced me to everyone before him.

Some great lists from admirable talents. One I wish I had seen in the lists, that I grew up on, is "Ten Years After Recorded Live". Alvin Lee gets overlooked.

Fantastic player. I don't personally consider him blues, but he fits in with some of the lists for sure.

True,

Not as pure as some others but as a contemporary of Beck, Gallagher, Mayall/Clapton I think he hangs in there pretty well.

Yeah. If you look at my list, I don't tend to be drawn to that stuff. I'm a mellow cat. I don't even like the scuttle buttin side of stevie. i like the lenny/riviera paradise/texas flood side... it's all just personal taste. Alvin lee was blazing.

I think Jonny Winter deserved more mention but i guess he received as much as SRV.

I know it is all more opinion than anything else. Thanks for sharing what some notable players thought

Yeah, I'm honestly surprised JW didn't get more shout outs. I should have gotten a list from Andy Aledort. He would have chosen some Johnny! I respect him tremendously, but honestly don't listen much.
