Garcia and Hunter were the only absolutely irreplaceable members of the Grateful Dead, IMO.

I'm not saying the others weren't a great addition to the band, But without Garcia and Hunter, forget about it!

Very true! Kean College 2/28/80 (“After Midnight”) is note perfect imo. Including the Hunter set.

I was a latecomer to the Dead but have always been curious about Hunter. Didn’t he spend a lot of time in Wyoming on a family ranch?

Excellent interview Alan thanks for posting Incidentally Hunter was born on the same day as my daughter Her in 1987 big money year for the boys and Hunter God Bless The Gratefu Dead
