Thanks for sharing! Great to hear some of Warren’s perspective on The Brothers shows. I’ve still got a smile on my face from that wonderful experience. We spoke briefly after night 2 while you were waiting for Lamar. Keep on sharing your great insights. ✌🏼
Great Interview. When I've been telling people about the Brothers shows my 2 biggest takeaways have been how meaningful it was personally to see Chuck Leavell go off on Jessica, and how excellently Joe Russo accepted the responsibility and executed with a thunderous performance. Very cool to see you highlight with those two very topics with Warren.
What an incredible character Warren is. I remember seeing Mule at our local venue, Capital Theater paired up with with Johnny Winter when Johnny couldn't get around much (but could still whip up a bad ass tune), and Warren and the guys basically carried the legend out on to the stage where he sat down and proceeded to blow us all away, still, with his lightning blues. It was definitely with mixed emotions that I watched this all go down. I'd been listening to Johnny live as long as I have the Brothers, when both played at SUNY New Paltz spring festivals back in the early 70's.
This brings back some fantastic memories, Alan. Much obliged. Hoping to see the Brothers shows pop up on nugs here soon.
PS The long chat with Scott was awesome as well. I had to go and immediately tune in Southern Blood for a relisten and then go pull down some of Scott's solo stuff. Can't wait to see Feat in Oct when TTB comes to town. Great stuff, don't stop now!
